| DRY SKIN BRUSHING The skin is the largest eliminating organ, therefore it is important to keep the skin open and healthy. It is recommended that a loofa sponge or a natural-bristle brush be used daily. Start with the top of the feet. Work in a clockwise, circular motion. Go up the arm to the shoulder and down across the breast towards the abdomen. Brush every part of the skin, excluding the face, in this circular motion – always going in the direction of the abdomen. Take a shower either before or after the dry-skin brushing. Do not use a loofa sponge or a natural bristle brush while in shower or bath as it may cause the skin to sag. Dry skin brushing increases circulation, stimulates the entire body, helps the skin breathe and removes dry, dead skin. Another advantage is that it will gently massage the lymphatics that are close to the surface of the skin. Dry-skin brushing is especially helpful in cases where there are fibroid cysts in a woman’s breast. Never use a nylon or synthetic brush. It must be a natural-bristle brush, such as vegetable or boar bristle. |
