Herbs, like other foods, are more beneficial if taken several times a day rather than all at
once. The dosages listed are merely historical recommendation. They are based on the
nutritional needs of a 150 lb. adult. The amount used can be more or less depending on
the individual. A 50 lb. child would need only 1/3 the amount of a 150 lb. adult.

Herbs work better when mixed together. Think of an herb combination as a fine recipe.
each part bringing out the best of others.

Extracts are recommended as they do not tax the digestive system and are quickly
assimilated. They are also easy to apply externally. When an herb is listed for internal
and external use, the herb can be taken internally and may also be applied externally over
the body area to get a double benefit. Herbs are quickly absorbed by the body internally
as well as through the skin. Generally, 20 drops of an extract equals one capsule.

When taking any "natural" supplements including herbal extracts, be sure to take them 1
hr. before or 2 hrs. after any medication you may be on, including birth control pills.
